Are You Ready for Some Futbol?

by Susan Price

Yes, we’re a basketball magazine. Yes, the NBA Finals are going on. But we can’t ignore the biggest sporting event on the planet, the 2010 FIFA World Cup. And last night, Lang and I got a sneak peek at PUMA City NY at South Street Seaport, a great place to watch the matches and more. With retail spaces where you can get everything from kits to kicks to a pitch where you can try out the same boots being worn in South Africa right now, PUMA City NY is a tribute to the beautiful game. In addition to daytime activities, including pick up games and clinics on the pitch, The PUMA Social Club will come alive at night, with DJs, ping pong tournaments, foosball games, athlete appearances and more. If you’re in the NYC area and you’re a World Cup fan, you have to make your way down. For more info on what’s happening and when, go to pumacity.com.

If you’re in the city over the next month, you should head south to the Seaport and check out the festivities.
