Open Tryouts

By Matt Caputo

It’s a sad truth that many talented players have no place to hoop after college. While many D-1 players can earn money at many levels of overseas basketball, the small college player has few options aside from the local men’s recreation leagues. With that in mind, we’ve listed the remaining open tryout dates for some minor league teams across the country.

First, a pair of D-League teams are holding tryouts in the home towns of their NBA affiliates. Second, the NPBL, a new Northeast based semi-pro league, has three teams hosting tryouts in the next week or so. The NPBL (National Professional Basketball League) is a great chance for guys to get entry level pro experience. Also, something called the Texas Basketball League is having tryouts in North Carolina. Go figure.
