WATCH: Will Barton Posterizes Donatas Motiejunas

Houston Rockets big man Donatas Motiejunas made the tragic mistake of jumping with a sky-bound Will Barton … and, well, things did not end well for him.

Barton’s emphatic finish punctuated the Denver Nuggets’ 114-108 win Monday night, and the victory marked a season-sweep by Denver over Houston.

Barton led the way for the Nuggets with 23 points and added nine boards.

Per the Denver Post:

Houston is his team. He has owned the Rockets this season. None of those things changed Monday night. Barton threw down a monster dunk, threw away Trevor Ariza’s shoe after it came off his foot and led the Nuggets past the Rockets — again — 114-108 at the Pepsi Center. […] “That’s how the game goes sometimes,” Barton said. “You never know. You might have to make a 3. You might have to throw somebody’s shoe into a crowd.”

The win completed a three-game sweep of the season series against the Rockets. Barton had averaged 18.5 points in the previous two matchups. He finished with 23 points on 8-of-18 shooting Monday and added nine rebounds.

“We turned the ball over too much tonight, we didn’t guard the 3-point line tonight, but we did a ton of good things,” Nuggets coach Michael Malone said. “(Great) win for our guys.”
