Second-year forward expected to be out six-to-eight weeks

ATLANTA, GA —– Atlanta Hawks forward Marvin Williams has sustained a non-displaced fracture of the third metacarpal of his left hand, according to Hawks head athletic trainer Wally Blase.

The injury occurred during today’s workout on the Hawks practice court. He was examined this afternoon by Hawks team physician Dr. Michael Bernot, and placed in a protective cast. Williams is expected to be out of action for six-to-eight weeks, but none of his off-court conditioning activities will be limited, according to Blase.
