As many of my colleagues will tell you, I have nothing but hard feelings for the current hip-hop landscape. I can’t get excited about new artists. The old artists I did get excited about aren’t going at it as hard as they once did. It seems to me that capitalism has sucked the life out of the entire genre.

However, on rare occasions, hip-hop surprises me. Sometimes hip-hop shows signs of life just before it’s pulse expires. This video, and many others like it, proves the underlining truth about today’s hip-hop scene. “There are too many rappers and not enough hip-hop fans.”
