Post Up: Real Deal Beal

76ers 101 (4-10), Heat 94 (4-9)

It was a battle of the bigs in Philly. Joel Embiid continued to impress in limited floor time, dropping 22 points (including four late free throws) in just 23 minutes of action. Miami center Hassan Whiteside left his stamp on this one as well, putting up a career-high 32 points and 13 boards.

Wizards 106 (4-9), Suns 101 (4-11),

Bradley Beal is the real deal. Following a 34-point outing on Saturday, the sharpshooter scored a career-high 42 (14 in the fourth quarter) against Phoenix. Booker and Bledsoe combined for 59 points (30 and 29, respectively) for the Suns.

Grizzlies 105 (9-5), Hornets 90 (8-5)

Conley went to work tonight, putting up 31 points on 11/21 shooting. Tony Allen had perhaps the play of the game, however, as the defensive specialist hit Marco Bellinelli with a nasty spin move and then boldly stared down MJ on the Hornets’ bench:

For Charlotte, Frank Kaminsky tied a career-high with 23 points. The Grizzlies have now won five straight.

Warriors 120 (12-2), Pacers  83 (7-8)

Stephen Curry had his fun before and during the game tonight. The original splash brothers combined for 47 points and the Warriors cruised to a victory in Indiana. We got another ridiculous Curry three (this one from 75 feet), but it was released just a second too late:

Let’s pretend it wasn’t though.

Rockets 99 (9-5), Pistons 96 (6-9)

Despite some missed free throws from Harden down the stretch, the Rockets escaped with a three-point victory over Detroit. The Beard still managed to post monster numbers: 28 points, 11 assists, and 8 rebounds. Just another day at the office. KCP had 26 to lead the Pistons, who have now lost four in a row.

Bucks 93 (6-7), Magic 89 (6-8)

Greek Freak alert. Giannis recorded his first triple-double of the season (21 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists), and added 5 steals and 3 blocks to the equation. His impressive performance helped the Bucks snap a three-game losing streak. But this fan might have been the biggest winner of the night.

Celtics 99 (8-6), Timberwolves 93 (4-9)

The Celtics rallied from 13 down in the fourth quarter to get the nice road win. Isaiah Thomas led all scorers with 29 points, and Horford pitched in 20 and 6 boards. For the Wolves, Karl-Anthony Towns did his thing, dropping 27 and snatching 18 rebounds. I mean, stuff like this just isn’t fair:

Still, Towns was the only player who scored for Minnesota in the first 11 minutes of the fourth. That’s not a recipe for success.

Spurs 96 (10-3), Mavericks 91 (2-10)

The struggling Mavs almost managed to pull this one out, but there was just too much Kawhi Leonard (24p, 9r) to overcome:

Seth Curry was one of the bright spots for Dallas, as he tied a career-high with 23 points on 9/16 from the field.

Clippers 123 (13-2), Raptors 115 (8-6)

Despite a late push from Toronto, the Clippers were able to hang on and secure their 13th win of the season. Don’t look now, but the team is off to their best start in franchise history. Blake Griffin did a little bit of everything with 26 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists. CP3 contributed 26 and 12 dimes as well. For Toronto, Lowry and DeRozan combined for 52 (27 and 25, respectively).
