Archie Goodwin Headed to Kentucky

Archie Goodwin has become the first member of the class of 2012 to commit to University of Kentucky, choosing the Wildcats over his hometown school, the University of Arkansas. The shooting guard, who is ranked No. 13 overall, announced on Twitter this morning that he would be heading to Lexington.

Goodwin is hoping that his commitment to Kentucky will get other top recruits to join him in Lexington. Here’s Goodwin talking to ESPN.com’s Dave Telep:

“It’s one of those things like why not take the opportunity once you get it? There’s plenty of guys I’d love to play with. DaJuan Coleman (Dewitt, N.Y./Jamesville-Dewitt) and Shabazz Muhammad (Las Vegas/Bishop Gorman) would be great. So would Kaleb Tarczewski (Claremont, N.H./St. Marks); all those guys are great. No matter who it will be I’m going to be surrounded by great players. We’ll bond and get to know each other.”
