UNLV Lands Four-Star High-Flying Prospect Derrick Jones

Moments after Kentucky landed two top-15 prospects in Skal Labissiere and Isaiah Briscoe live on ESPNU, Derrick Jones, who was also considering the Wildcats, opted for the UNLV Rebels instead. The explosive 6-6 forward averaged 15.9 points, 8.6 rebounds and two blocks per game last season as a junior for Archbishop Carroll in Philadelphia, PA. He also considered UConn and Kansas.

Live on ESPNU, Jones stated:

“When I went up there for my visit, I just stepped on campus and everything — with me and my parents and my coaches — felt like a family. When I stepped on campus, I just felt like we were family there. I got to know the basketball players and it just felt like a brotherhood when I went there.”
