Tryouts for the second annual Battle of the Boroughs begin tomorrow (June 27) and continue Wednesday (June 29), as Nike Basketball is bringing back the tournament for another summer. As it was last year, the goal is to showcase New York City’s top high school talent and ignite a rivalry amongst the city’s five boroughs. Streetball legends from the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, and Harlem all assemble a team comprised of the top ballplayers from their respective boroughs, and here’s how you can get involved:
All eligible high school players are invited to tryout for a chance to rep their borough. After the tryout period, the head coaches will handpick their 10 players to represent that borough’s team. The teams will practice and compete all summer long until the journey concludes in an all-day showdown in early August. Locations of tryouts for each borough are on the Nike advertisement above.
