NBA Pre-Draft Tour: Daniel Miller Workout

Former Georgia Tech big man Daniel Miller is one of the more massive dudes in this year’s NBA Draft. At every bit of 7-0 and close to 270 pounds, he has the ideal size of a center at the NBA level and some game to back it up. After watching him in person at the ACC tourney in Greensboro, we were able to lay eyes on him again at the BDA Sports pro day in L.A. training with Drew Hanlen.
Perhaps the best screener in college basketball, Miller was notorious for laying cats out throughout his tenure in the ACC. He rebounds his area well and uses his huge body to provide an exceptional presence on the defensive end at the collegiate level. Miller led the ACC in blocks at nearly 3 per game, while also posting respectable averages of 11 points and 8 rebounds per night as a senior. He doesn’t have a Timmy D-esque variety of moves in the paint, but has shown some flashes of a jump hook and has a solid J out to about 17 feet.
Miller will likely have to grind his way up via training camp or the D-League in order find his name on an NBA roster next season, but he has the sheer size, shot blocking ability and toughness to make that a reality some development in the skill department.
