Report: Duke To Hold NBA Pro Days For First Time

Duke has produced top draft picks Jahlil Okafor, Jabari Parker, Justise Winslow, Rodney Hood, Kyrie Irving and Austin Rivers over the years and with another stacked roster, Coach K is following Coach Cal’s lead by holding pro days for NBA scouts.

Scouts will get the chance to check out top prospects Jayson Tatum, Harry Giles, Grayson Allen and Frank Jackson in a live setting, but Duke will close all other practices.

From The Vertical:

Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski is barring NBA teams from scouting his program’s practices this season – except for two pro days scheduled in October, league sources told The Vertical.

NBA executives were extended invitations to pro days on Oct. 19 and 25 at Cameron Indoor Stadium, the second of which coincides with the opening night of the NBA regular season, Duke informed front offices on Tuesday.

“All other practices will be closed,” Duke told teams in an email.

NBA executives and scouts are free to scout any and all college games.

This is Duke’s first foray into the pro-day format. The Oct. 19 practice will include skills and drill work. The Oct. 25 session will be a scrimmage with game officials.
