Dunkman Fans:

It all comes down to this - the five regional winners in the 2008 DUNKMAN of the Year competition will be going at it at US Airways Center, the home of Shaq and the Suns, on Thursday, April 17 at 11 am. $10,000 and an ad in SLAM Magazine are going to be up for grabs. The event is FREE and open to the public.

There is sure to be plenty of pressure on each of the five men who have made it through some pretty rigorous regional events. However, each of them is ready to prove he has what it takes to become 2008 DUNKMAN of the Year, especially with the Big Diesel himself there as a judge.

When all the desert dust settles, will the 2008 DUNKMAN of the Year be Clifford Washington, who captured the inaugural event in New Orleans in front of Shaq himself?

Perhaps it will be Houston regional champion Emmerich Grimm, who stunned the competition and those in attendance, including Hall of Famer Calvin Murphy ...

Maybe Ryan Williams, who soared over four fans standing in the lane, to take the New York regional at world-famous Rucker Park, will be the top dog.

Will Phoenix-area resident Kenny Dobbs soar above the competition like he did at the Venice Beach courts in Los Angeles to take that title?
None of them have a chance if Atlanta regional winner Troy McCray has his druthers - his dunks were some of the most creative in recent memory for all those in attendance.

There is really only one way to know who walks away with all the marbles - make sure you are in the crowd at US Airways Center in Phoenix on April 17 at 11 am - and remember it's FREE.
