adidas Unveils First Futurecraft Shoe Created at SPEEDFACTORY Facility

Adidas has unveiled the first product to be created at their new SPEEDFACTORY facility, based in Ansbach, Germany.

The sneaker–the adidas Futurecraft M.F.G. (Made for Germany)–has been designed to provide the perfect fit. According to the Three Stripes, they’ve made the first step in one day creating consumer-specific sneakers.

Here’s more from adidas:

The SPEEDFACTORY development process – and adidas Futurecraft M.F.G. shoe – will combine to create a state-of-the-art product made for individual needs. The shoe will be part of adidas Running and will be an initial test from adidas with the view of rolling out to other categories in the future.

Adidas is using ARAMIS technology to understand exactly how an athlete’s foot moves while running. That’s what led to the 3-stripe cage and traditional heel counter being replaced with a series of patches that were placed across different parts of the shoe to provide the best possible support.

The final key feature is a new torsion bar, which is fitted into the outsole, for greater flexibility. The shoe has a PRIMEKNIT upper and BOOST technology for maximum comfort.

For now, the Futurecraft is only available in Germany. But America will get its hands on the innovative product soon. There’s already a SPEEDFACTORY facility being built in Cherokee County, Atlanta.
