Chandler Parsons Is Attempting To Recruit Patrick Beverley To Mavericks

As Rockets point guard Patrick Beverley heads into free agency this summer, his good friend Chandler Parsons is turning on the recruiting charm. Beverley insists he wants to remain a Rocket, but James Harden’s wish to play alongside another playmaker could limit how far Houston is willing to go in negotiations.

Dallas, on the other hand, desperately needs perimeter defenders. They were a bottom-10 defensive team last season and looked even more vulnerable during the Playoffs, allowing 112.6 points per 100 possessions against Houston.

From the Houston Chronicle:

With Pat Beverley heading into free agency, the Rockets point guard said he is already seeing the renowned recruiting talents of former teammate Chandler Parsons first hand.

“I hear from Chandler every day,” Beverley said. “It’s hard, but I try not to think about it. I can’t talk about contracts. It’s going to be a fun summer. I have put myself in a position to be set for life and that’s something that I never thought was possible growing up.”

Like Parsons last summer, Beverley will be a restricted free agent, giving the Rockets the opportunity to match any contract offer sheet he signs. But Beverley said he hopes to be back with the Rockets.
