Introducing the Nike Kyrie 1 (KICKS)

Wednesday night on the West side of Manhattan, Kyrie Irving and Nike Basketball officially unveiled the Nike Kyrie 1, Irving’s very first signature sneaker from the Swoosh. Designed by Leo Chang, the Kyrie 1 is built to match the speed and quickness of one of the game’s best point guards.

With pinpoint responsiveness thanks to Nike Zoom Air in the forefoot, a dynamic traction pattern wrapping the shoe’s sidewalls and breathability in the Hyperfuse construction, all in a mid-cut silhouette, the Kyrie 1 is built for premium performance. Plus, it has personal details, like the No. 2 on the upper heel, Irving’s signature on the inside of the tongue, and the jagged edge pattern on the heel counter inspired by the Sydney Opera House in Irving’s homeland of Australia. And, per Nike, the acronym “JBY” that sits beneath Irving’s new logo on the outsole stands for “Just Be You,” a motto that Irving hopes inspires kids as they establish their own unique identities.

The Kyrie 1 will debut in two lead colorways—”Dream” (black) on December 23, and “Deceptive Red” on January 10—for a retail price of $110. Scroll through all the photos for a better look at both colorways, and learn more about the Kyrie 1, from the man himself, in the video below:
