Kicks: Jordan Spiz’ike Scavenger Hunt and Spike Lee Appearance

[sg-gallery]

If you like Jordans, Spike Lee and Twitter, and you live in New York, listen up. Jordan Brand is planning a double dose of weekend sneaker events, all centered around the release of the Melo M8 and the New York Knick-themed Spiz’ikes that we’ve previewed for weeks. Want one of the exclusive, 1-of-8 pair of J’s in the pictures above? Get out your laptops, smartphones, iPads and whatever else, because Jordan’s putting on a scavenger hunt that will lead you on a chase around the city to locate some rare sneaks. The details, from JB:

With Carmelo Anthony and Spike Lee holding court in NYC, Jordan is in a New York State of Mind. The Melo M8 launch took the city by storm in October and we’re releasing New York inspired colorways of the Jordan Spiz’ike this Saturday to continue the celebration.

To show love to the city that gave birth to MJ, Melo and Spike, Jordan Brand is giving fans a chance to win a signed commemorative box set of Jordan Melo M8s and Jordan Spiz’ikes on Friday and Saturday.  We’re strategically placing eight packs throughout the city that are iconic to Melo and Spike. In order to win, consumers will need to follow @jumpman23 as we’ll be tweeting clues to each location starting tomorrow. Simply be the first person to locate the Jordan street team at each tweeted clue to win. Eight different locations, eight different winners.

If you don’t cash in on the sneaker hunt, there’s a pretty dope consolation prize: Spike Lee will be making an appearance at Footaction (at 34th and 7th) on Saturday, November 5. Lee will be on hand to discuss his history with the brand and the inspiration behind the Jordan Spiz’ike. The event starts at 10 a.m., and once the kicks are launched, they will have a retail tag of $175 for both the blue ribbon and orange flash colorways.
