New Sneaker Store ‘Stadium Goods’ Opening in New York (PHOTOS)

Listen up, sneakerheads. There’s a new sneaker store opening up its doors this Friday, October 16, and it’s legit. Stadium Goods is located on 47 Howard Street in SoHo in New York, NY and will house a massive selection of brands far-ranging and rare, from Nikes to Jordans to Asics. But this is more than just your typical retail storefront.

Stadium Goods also consists of a Consignment Market Center on 305 Canal Street, where customers can sell their footwear, complete with accompanying website. The team behind this new business has a history in the industry: John McPheters (Flight Club), Jed Stiller (Greenhouse, Team Epiphany), and Yu-Ming Wu (Sneaker News, Sneaker Con). In other words, these guys know what they’re doing.

Their goal is to make things easier for kicks enthusiasts everywhere with a strong customer service approach and an innovative way to buy and sell sneakers. Could this finally be a competitor to the legendary Flight Club?

Here’s more from Stadium Goods:

STADIUM GOODS officially ushers in the next generation of consumer retail with the unveiling of stadiumgoods.com, offering sneaker enthusiasts around the world the most premium, innovative and customer service-focused approach to buying and selling highly coveted footwear, apparel and lifestyle goods. Providing an unmatched level of customer service to the massive billion-dollar sneaker resale industry, Stadium Goods is the brainchild of co-founders John McPheters and Jed Stiller, who pulled from their e-commerce, venture capital and hospitality backgrounds to bring both buyers and sellers an impeccable online marketplace as well as a brick and mortar shop in the hotbed of Manhattan’s retail scene.

“Sneaker culture is more than just a multi-billion dollar business, it’s a serious passion for generations of consumers. We share that passion and want to innovate the way consumers buy and sell coveted sneakers, apparel and goods—making both experiences more efficient, friendly, and interactive. From day one, we will have a direct line to our customers and consigners, addressing their needs in real time, both in-store and online,” says John McPheters, Stadium Goods Co-Founder and CEO.

Joining the Stadium Goods team as Chief Marketing Officer is an industry powerhouse, Yu-Ming Wu. As the creator of SneakerNews.Com and the nation-wide footwear convention SneakerCon, Wu has built two of the most successful outlets in sneaker culture. Stadium Goods is Wu’s first foray into retail, perfecting the company’s aesthetic and branding. Equally notable are Stadium Good’s site design by Gin Lane Media (Harrys.com, Reformation.com, SweetGreens.com) and store designs by Jorge Porta (formerly of Mark Zeff Design). Collectively, all of these design leaders have collaborated to create a marketplace that matches the passion of the true sneaker/apparel enthusiast.

Bringing together one of the greatest collections of sneakers ever amassed, Stadium Goods will offer an incredible inventory of sought-after sneakers, as well as coveted lifestyle apparel from brands such as Nike, adidas, Jordan, SUPREME, Converse, Asics – all authenticated, from limited-edition collectibles to timeless classics.
