Nowadays, when someone mentions former Seattle SuperSonics superstar point guard Gary Payton, it usually revolves around his tireless pursuit to bring an NBA team back to the city of Seattle. What you don’t often hear is how great his signature sneakers with Nike were back in the ’90s. Of the gems Payton wore on court, all pail in comparison to the Zoom Flight “Gloves.” The OG model is set for a comeback this year.
Returning in nostalgic monochromatic coloring, the Nike Zoom Flight ’98, also know as “The Glove,” remains true to its original form with overlaying white sleeve and black Swoosh branding on the exterior. The interior features neon green accents alongside customary additions like the “1.5 Articulation” embroidery and famous “Monkey Paws.” The shoe is slated to hit Nike Sportswear retailers this coming fall. Will you be picking up a pair?
