Jordan Brand Announces the Breakfast Club Training Program

Michael Jordan’s work ethic is almost as famous as his tongue-wagging aerial assaults. Yes, he was blessed with athleticism and height, but he worked his ass off throughout his entire career in order to make himself into the best player he could be.

Later in his career, he started the Breakfast Club. With Tim Grover, Scottie Pippen and others, Michael would wake up early in the morning to put in extra work before practice.

“The physicality of the game was changing,” said Michael Jordan, via a Nike press release. “The League was allowing defenders to be a lot more physical with the ball handler and I knew that I had to find a way to get stronger and be able to deal with the beating. Breakfast Club was a mindset more than a workout. We wanted to be more prepared than anyone else.”

The Jordan Brand is now using the ideals set forth by MJ to help high school kids get better. The Jordan Breakfast Club is a 30-day program designed by Alex Molden – Jordan Master Trainer and former pro-athlete – helps kids improve their speed, strength and reaction skills for the season ahead.

Athletes can pre-register for the Jordan Breakfast Club at Jordan.com/training and will begin receiving workouts on September 6. Live experiences will be offered in Chicago, New York, Los Angeles and Toronto as well. After subscribing to the program digitally, athletes will have the opportunity to begin training immediately using the drills and techniques introduced by a collection of Jordan Brand athletes, such as Dez Bryant, Erik Kynard, and Jalen Ramsey. These digital sessions, which will be delivered directly to the athlete through a Jordan Chatbox® execution, are geared toward athletes of all levels.

In addition to the announcement of the Club, JB is also set to drop the Air Jordan Trainer I, which is inspired by MJ’s fist silhouette with Nike. The Trainer I comes complete with a FlyWeave upper and Nike Zoom Air cushioning, making it both light and comfortable. Both low and mid-cuts are available now, except for the “Banned” colorway, which drops on September 3.

Check out pictures of the low “Michigan” and “Neymar” colorways, and the mid-cut Trainer I up top. Scoop your pair at Nike.com.
