Kevin Durant Says Giannis Antetokounmpo Will Be ‘Amazing’ Once He Develops a Jumper

Despite a stat-stuffing performance from Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, filled with highlight-reel plays, Kevin Durant and the visiting OKC Thunder left Milwaukee with a 104-96 victory Sunday.

KD appreciates the young fella’s emerging game, and says there’s just one thing remaining for the Greek Freak to develop before he can truly be unstoppable: a consistent jumpshot.

Durant finished with 32 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists in the win; Antetokounmpo countered with his third triple-double of the season (26 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists.)

Per the Journal Sentinel:

“They’ve got a really good young core and they’re different,” Durant said of the Bucks. “They’re long and athletic, all of those guys, and they present a matchup problem on both ends of the floor. They can switch everything on defense and they can drive and score.

“Giannis, once he starts to knock down that jumper consistently, he’s going to be a problem. I hope he doesn’t get it any time soon. He’s already a problem now, but once he starts knocking that jumper down, it’s going to be amazing to watch.”

The 21-year-old Bucks player has been compared to Durant, but the Thunder forward said he sees some important differences. […] “We’re a little different,” Durant said. “I came into the game as a scorer and then I developed other parts of my game. I think he came into the game as a wild-card guy that can do just about everything pretty good. He can rebound it pretty good. He can pass it pretty good. He’s long and athletic. I came into the game strictly as a scorer and a rebounder, then I started to develop other parts. So it’s a little different, but I think we’re on the same trajectory.”
