2012 Rumph Classic Recap (VIDEO)

The Danny Rumph Classic is an eight-team double elimination tournament that features a number of NBA players as well as other ballers. It’s named after Danny Rumph, a former Western Kentucky point guard who passed away; his death was caused by hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a heart disease that also took the lives of Hank Gathers and Reggie Lewis. Rumph was playing a pick-up game in a Philadelphia when it happened.

The team that won the tournament—Show Ya Love—featured pros Marreese Speights, Wayne Ellington and Dionte Christmas. Thomas Robinson, Marcus Morris, Markieff Morris, Hakim Warrick and Rasual Butler also participated. Check highlights of the action above.
