Andrew Wiggins Posterizes Rudy Gobert Twice (VIDEO)

The visiting Utah Jazz demolished the Minnesota Timberwolves 104-84 Monday night, but in a battle of two teams going nowhere this season, the final score didn’t matter.

The aerial war between Andrew Wiggins and Rudy Gobert, however, was worth the price of admission.

Wiggins yammed on Gobert a couple of times (and got other Jazz players, too), but Gobert exacted revenge with a monster block and appropriately asked for his just due.

Per the Star Tribune:

Wiggins landed, pumped his fist, yelled. Frankly, it was a rather unprecedented display of emotion. […] “It was exciting,” Wiggins explained. “It was good. I got up.”

On a night that was otherwise a little dull, perhaps expected and ultimately disappointing, there were a few moment worth watching at Target Center. […] That was one of them. Here’s another: On the Wolves’ next possession Wiggins again tried to dunk on Gobert, but this time the he blocked it, then flexed his upper body like the Incredible Hulk.

“I was waiting for him to come back,” Gobert said. “And he came back pretty quick.” […] “We’re both young teams,” Wiggins said. “We’re in the same conference. We’re going to see each other a lot.”
