Cody Zeller Undergoes Right Shoulder Surgery

The Charlotte Hornets announced Wednesday that forward Cody Zeller had successful surgery to repair a tendon in his right shoulder, and the operation was also to emove a bone spur and scar tissue.

The big guy should out of action for the next three months.

Zeller averaged career bests in points (7.6), rebounds (5.8), assists (1.6) and minutes (24.0) in 62 games, including 46 starts, during the 2014-15 season.

 

Zeller participated in the BBVA Compass Rising Stars Challenge at All-Star Weekend. He started for the USA team, scoring 12 points on 6-7 shooting and grabbing four rebounds in 20 minutes played. On Jan. 5, he scored a then-career-high 20 points on 8-8 shooting from the field and 4-4 from the free-throw line against the Celtics, becoming just the fourth player in Charlotte NBA history to not miss a shot from either the field or free-throw line when attempting at least five field goals and at least four free throws. Zeller missed 19 of the final 20 games of the season with right shoulder injuries.
