Duke Commit Luke Kennard Surpassed LeBron James on Ohio’s All-Time HS Scoring List (VIDEO)

The legend of Luke Kennard has been building for four years now. Consistently sold out games, an Ohio Mr. Basketball award, and simply absurd scoring numbers. If assists were kept, he’d be up there too. The 6-foot-5 senior guard is known for his no-look dimes just as well as his ability to get buckets. His recruitment brought him offers from literally every school in the country and he eventually decided to play for college basketball’s winningest coach at Duke. Kennard’s latest accolade:  Passing LeBron James on Ohio’s all-time scoring list.

Friday night against Brookville, Kennard dropped an absurd 44 points to pass the King as 4th on Ohio’s all-time scoring list. His output over the weekend took him to 2,652 points, six more than LBJ’s 2,646. It will be impossible for him to Jon Diebler (3,208 points), but his scoring accolades should win him his second Mr. Basketball award and will only help fuel Franklin’s potential run to a state title. The southwest Ohio squad sits at 16-1 right now, with their lone loss coming to national power and defending Nevada state champion Bishop Gorman.
