Dwyane Wade Lights Up the Pistons With 40 Points (VIDEO)

A frustrated Dwyane Wade called for changes to the Miami Heat’s stagnant offense Friday, and after getting some fluid drained from his bruised left knee, Wade became the offense Sunday.

Wade exploded for 40 points in a 109-102 win against the visiting Detroit Pistons, scoring 19 of those in the fourth quarter.

The Heat were without Hassan Whiteside, Chris Andersen and Shabazz Napier, while Luol Deng and Michael Beasley were unable to play in the second half due to injuries.

Per the Sun-Sentinel:

“At least it wasn’t an injury,” (Erik) Spoelstra said of the (Wade knee) bruise, taking any silver lining he could find. “Obviously, he looked fantastic. He was quick, he was strong, he was getting to places he needed to.”

(Udonis) Haslem also came through, already with a double-double at halftime on the way to 18 points and 13 rebounds, both season highs. They all were needed, with Drummond closing with 32 points on 14-of-17 shooting and 14 rebounds for Detroit, who also got 31 points from point guard Reggie Jackson. […] “U.D. really showed a toughness,” Spoelstra said. “Our two co-captains really led us and set the tone. They did it with their actions.”

“We’re broken,” Wade said. “But we’ve put it back together. You have to do what you have to do. I’m glad we were able to pull it out, and everyone contributed.”
