Evan Turner Hits Game-Winner to Beat the Hawks (VIDEO)

The lowly Boston Celtics shocked the visiting Atlanta Hawks, pulling off an 89-88 thriller thanks to Evan Turner’s heroics.

Turner floated in the game winner, leaving just two-tenths of a second on the game clock.

The C’s were able to complete an impressive comeback victory against one of the NBA’s best teams.

Per the Boston Herald:

“We’re 20-31, so I’m not ready to anoint us the ‘Come Back Crew’ yet,” said Celtics head coach Brad Stevens. “But we have had a lot of games where we’ve been down and we’ve come back and been right on the door knocking and not gotten over the hump, and so it was good to finish that off, come back all the way, and win. […] But I didn’t think (the Hawks) played their best game,” he said. “They’ve been on the road for three games, they’ve had a miraculous couple of months of basketball, and they missed some shots late, and we were fortunate, we made some, and worked out our way.”

Turner’s main fear, after realizing he had DeMarre Carroll beat off a crossover move, was the teammate he left standing alone in the left corner. […] “To tell you the truth, I was worried about Avery’s (Bradley) reaction,” said Turner. “He probably thought he was going to get the ball. I just felt really confident in that situation. Thank God it went in. Whenever I make a move I always feel like I have the defender where I want him,” he added. “It’s set up to get them on my hip and get my shoulder past them.”

“It says a lot about this team that we’re able to come back when we shot something like 30 percent,” Turner said. “You want to put together a whole game, a defensive and offensive game, and then we’ll be all right.”
