For Old Time’s Sake: Horace Grant

Horace Grant was probably known for his goggles more than his play even though he had great ability on the court and huge impact on multiple Championship teams. Grant was drafted 10th overall by the Bulls in the ’87 Draft (same year as Pippen) and backed up Charles Oakley for a few years until Oak was traded to the Knicks in ’89. He quickly became Chicago’s best rebounder and post defender and played a vital role in the Bulls 3 Championship Titles from ’91-93. Grant signed with the Magic after the ’94 season where he joined Penny and Shaq Diesel in their quest for a Chip. The Magic got to the Finals in ’95 but fell to Hakeem the Dream and the Rockets. Grant would get another Title with the Lakers in ’01 and then retired in ’04. His career averages were just about 11 pts and 8 rbs over a 17-year career. Shout out to Harvey Grant, Horace’s identical twin, and thanks to Misiek for the mix.
