Back in the day Michael Finley was one of the best dunkers and most feared matchups in the league. Standing 6’7″ tall, he could penetrate the lane ferociously but also had one of the smoothest step back Js. Finley averaged 15 pts, 4.6 rbs and 3.5 asts in his rookie season with Phoenix in ’95 and was then traded to Dallas in ’96 in a multi-player deal that landed Jason Kidd in Phoenix. He quickly became Dallas’ best player and in the late 90s welcomed Steve Nash and Dirk Nowitzki to the Mavs, forming one of the most efficient trios in the NBA. After almost a decade in Dallas, Finley transitioned into a backup role behind Manu in San Antonio where he won a Title in ’07. His best season statistically came in ’99-00 with the Mavs when he averaged 22.6 pts, 6.3 rbs, and 5. asts. Finley is also a 2x All Star. Shout out to Yinka Dare for the mix.
