JR Smith: ‘The Trade From New York to Cleveland, I Was Pissed Honestly’ (VIDEO)

JR Smith is an integral part of the Cleveland Cavaliers’ current championship run. But apparently, he wasn’t too pleased when he first heard he’d been traded to the Cavs in January of 2015.

In an interview with VICE Sports, Smith says of getting the news, “The trade from New York to Cleveland, I was pissed honestly.”

And even though he had his fair share of run-ins in the Big Apple, JR adds, of playing for the Knicks: “Every person that plays in the NBA should experience playing in New York at least once in your career. To play in the Mecca of basketball at the Garden every night, is probably the greatest decision I’ve ever made, to go to New York.”

He comments on his relationship with Carmelo Anthony (“Melo is probably my all-time favorite person that I’ve been around consistently”) and his new teams chances of winning it all this year (“In my eyes, we’re going to win the Championship”) among other topics. Check out the full video above.
