In Kentucky’s preseason exhibition game against D-II Montevallo, star freshman James Young scored 16 points in a 95-72 victory. However, his most impressive bucket didn’t count, because he scored on the wrong basket.
Channeling his inner Isaiah Rider, Young tried to save a ball that was going out of bounds and accidentally threw the ball into his own basket. The shot was counted as a team lay-up.
While it may have been two points for Montevallo, at least it looked cool and apparently made Kentucky coach John Calipari laugh.
