Kevin Durant Says He Wants Jersey Retired in OKC (VIDEO)

OKC Thunder superstar Kevin Durant will be the most coveted free agent on the planet in the summer of 2016, but it doesn’t sound like he’s looking to go anywhere.

Durant, 26, says he’d love to stay with the Thunder for his entire NBA career, culminating with his #35 jersey hanging in the OKC gym’s rafters.

In addition to his basketball future, a candid KD spoke to REVOLT TV about his childhood, the social responsibility he feels as a black athlete, and discussed the recent tragic deaths of unarmed black men that have ignited racial tensions across the U.S.

Per The Oklahoman:

The topic came up when the interviewer asked Durant what he’s looking for his impending new contract and a future home, whether here in OKC or elsewhere.

“I love it here, man,” Durant said. “I love my teammates, I love the city, I don’t really think about anywhere else. “I hear it all the time, don’t get me wrong, and once you hear it you’re kind of like, [looks up as if he’s thinking]. But for me, I love staying in the moment, and I’m one of those guys that would love to stick it out with one team my whole career. Kobe (Bryant)/Tim Duncan/Dirk Nowitzki type of dude. That’s awesome. But you never know what the future holds sometimes and how teams may feel about you after a whole. But I love it here, and I would love to get my jersey retired here.”

Durant will miss the remainder of this season after undergoing a third surgery on his right foot. The four-time scoring champ appeared in just 27 games this season, the third fewest among reigning MVPs.
