Maybe in tribute to Derrick Rose, the folks at adidas are working overtime to push their latest and lightest basketball shoe.

Yesterday we linked you to a video posted on the company’s Facebook page that showed the Hyperdunk 2010 getting chainsawed to become as light as the adiZero Crazy Light, which grazes the scales at 9.8 ounces.

More lab research footage has surfaced, with adidas cutting into the Zoom Kobe VI and scaling the shoe down to an equivalent weight. Like I said earlier today, it’s rare to see a sneaker company come right out and take aim at the top dog in the industry. What do you guys think of the ads? You can vote for what you’d like to see next at the adi Facebook page. If you’re a Bulls fan, your votes of LeBron James and/or Dwyane Wade will more than likely go unanswered.
