WATCH: Kobe Bryant’s Top-10 High School Plays

Scouting high school prospects and predicting which standouts will pan out long term is difficult. Like, really difficult. Stories of prospects not being able to live up to the hype is more common than players actually living up to the hype – lots of could’ve, should’ve and would’ve. And then you have Kobe Bryant.

Having just wrapped up his first-ballot Hall of Fame career last spring, Kobe Bryant was among those guys that showed glimpses of greatness from an early age at Lower Merion High in PA. Touted high enough to be drafted straight out of high school with the 13th overall pick, his game was, well, very Kobe-ish. From the explosive steps to the rim to the flashy off-the-dribble moves, the signs were all there. After all, he did finish with a state championship and multiple national POYs awards under his belt.

Check out this video above to peep some of the top plays from Kobe’s prep career in the mid-90s.
