Rasheed Wallace Needs Surgery, Out for the Season

When reports initially surfaced that said Rasheed Wallace’s season was doomed thanks to a left foot injury, the veteran forward attempted to refute them and vowed to play again. Now that he needs surgery to repair the fractured foot, the writing is clearly on the wall. Per the NY Daily News: “Wallace has been sidelined since mid December and the Knicks announced on Wednesday that X-rays ‘showed progression to a fractured left fifth metatarsal, otherwise known as a Jones fracture.’ […] Surgery is scheduled for this week and according to the club recovery time is approximately eight weeks. The surgery could mean the end of Wallace’s career. The 38-year-old forward was convinced by Mike Woodson into returning to the league after Wallace sat out the previous two seasons. Last week, the Knicks signed veteran forward Kenyon Martin to a 10-day contract.”
