Richard Jefferson Posterizes Walter Tavares (VIDEO)

Welcome to the League, rook!

Rchard Jefferson and his somehow still-springy 35-year-old legs rudely introduced 7’ 3” rookie center Walter Tavares to life under the hoop in the NBA, delivering a vicious jam in the big fella’s grill Wednesday night.

Tavares and the Atlanta Hawks came away with a 98-96 preseason win against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Per the NEOMG:

“I’m just trying to help out in any way I can,” Jefferson said. “We have a great team and I’m just going to play my part.”

“Y’all didn’t see my reaction? That’s (Richard) my man. I liked that, especially on a 7-foot-8 dude,” the Cavs’ J.R. Smith said, prompting reporters to burst out in laughter. “I don’t know how tall he is, but he’s tall as hell.”

Jefferson was much more mellow when asked about his dunk, the dunk he was watching on his cell phone when reporters entered the locker room. […] “Ah man, you know, I’m just trying to hold on as long as I can,” he said. “That’s it.” […] “That was great,” LeBron James said of the dunk. “He keeps talking about how old he is and things of that nature. We keep joking with each other about how old both of us are and that was definitely some spring still left in his legs.”
