Slamadaday: Jarret Johnson on Mason Ambler

After you’ve replayed this video 10 times, think about exactly how many highlights we’ve missed. Finding an obscure Division-II cram just five years ago? Not happening.

This dunk comes from Anderson University’s gym, located in South Carolina’s northwest corner. The gym is probably smaller than your high school’s.

Being able to quickly share videos like this is exactly why streaming video has become internet fixture. Thanks to technology, heads around the world are spinning after Anderson University’s 89-72 dismantling of the Coker College Cobras last night.

With 3:28 remaining in the second half, Jarret Johnson, a sophomore from Greensboro, N.C., provided the highlight of the college season. The 6-3, 190-pound guard glided over the defender’s shoulder on his way to the cup.

The dunk was one for the ages, but the celebration was just as classic. Stephen Cobb (no. 44) gives high-fives to random people on the sidelines. Cheerleaders come up to talk trash. The victim (6-6 junior swingman Mason Ambler) just lies on the floor. Not a single teammate comes near to help him up.

Johnson finished the game with 10 points on 4-6 shooting, 6 boards, 3 steals and 1 highlight of a lifetime.
