Take a 3D Tour of the Warriors’ New Arena (VIDEO)

The Golden State Warriors plan to move into a new, $1 billion home by the time the 2016-17 NBA season rolls around.

In the meantime, you can check out what the joint should look like once construction wraps up—the team released an animated video of their proposed digs Tuesday.

The glitzy building will be located in San Francisco’s Mission Bay neighborhood, and is privately financed.

Per CSN Bay Area:

The two-minute video, unveiled by Warriors COO Rick Welts, shows the exterior of the building and its surrounding area west of the Bay and several blocks south of AT&T Park. It also provides a glimpse of the interior of the arena.

The building, slated to seat about 18,000 for basketball, will be privately financed at a cost of about $1 billion. It will be situated adjacent to the Mission Bay campus of the University of California-San Francisco medical center.

Meanwhile, the Warriors continue to seek final approval while a group of local citizens – the Mission Bay Alliance – remains determined to fight the new arena proposal on the grounds of its impact to traffic and the UCSF medical center.
