Warriors Blow Out the Hawks in Battle of NBA’s Top Teams (VIDEO)

With revenge on their minds Wednesday night, the Golden State Warriors routed the visiting Atlanta Hawks 114-95.

The Dubs used their well-balanced attack and suffocating defense to snuff out the Hawks, and proved once again that they’re the NBA’s best team.

Golden State didn’t even need a big night from Stephen Curry (16 points); Harrison Barnes (25 points) and Andre Iguodala (21 points) picked up the slack.

Per the Contra Costa Times:

“We had this game circled on our calendar,” Barnes said after a game-high 25 points.

The best defense in the NBA shut down the Hawks, who came in as one of the most efficient offenses in the league. Atlanta — which was without sharpshooter Kyle Korver and backup forward Mike Scott, who torched the Warriors last month — was at 31.5 percent from the field when the starters were pulled midway through the fourth quarter. That’s 15 percent below their season average.

With Andrew Bogut locked in, Hawks big man Al Horford managed just eight points on 4-for-18 shooting. With (Draymond) Green and Iguodala swarming all over the floor, Atlanta managed just 17 points in third quarter. […] The Warriors, who led by as much as 29, didn’t even need Klay Thompson, who missed his first game since being ruled out at least a week with an ankle injury. The home team still shot 52.4 percent, knocking down 14 3-pointers.
