The NBA’s massive new TV deal kicks in next season and if last night was any indication, the money put up will be well worth it. The high-drama of the Warriors-Thunder Western Conference Finals mixed with the end of a long holiday weekend proved to be the perfect storm as last night’s Game 7 was the highest rated NBA telecast ever.
TNT, which broadcasted the game, also scored the second-highest rating of the night across all television as viewers stuck around to watch Inside the NBA immediately after the game.

TNT’s exclusive coverage of the 2016 NBA Western Conference Finals Game 7 – Golden State vs. Oklahoma City – averaged an 11.2 HH metered market rating to deliver cable’s highest rated NBA game telecast of all time.
TNT’s Warriors/Thunder telecast on Monday was the highest rated sporting event of Memorial Day weekend on television.
TNT delivered the two top-rated programs of the night across all of television with Thunder/Warriors Game 7 (11.2 HH rating) and Inside the NBA (4.8 HH rating), based on overnights.
The game peaked with a 13.8 HH rating from 11:15-30 p.m. ET. The Warriors series clinching win averaged a 30.9 in San Francisco, TNT’s highest-rated NBA telecast of all time in that market. Additional top local markets for last night’s telecast including Oklahoma City (30.0), Cleveland (20.7), Sacramento (19.2) and Tulsa (15.5).
