During an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Wednesday, a stunned Shaquille O’Neal learned that he’s getting a statue outside The Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Lakers President and co-owner Jeanie Buss was on hand to deliver the news to the big fella.

Shaq then proceeded to discuss Blake Griffin’s punching incident (O’Neal has also punched people in the past) …

… and talked about his son’s epic 16th birthday party.

From the press release:

Following is a statement from Lakers President and co-owner Jeanie Buss regarding the announcement that Shaquille O’Neal will be honored with a statue at STAPLES Center. The statue will be unveiled on a date yet to be determined during the 2016-17 season:

“We look forward to having Shaq join the other legends who have been honored with statues at STAPLES Center,” said Buss. “He is a giant not only in size, but also in stature and in what he accomplished as a Laker. Shaq literally broke the ground for the site, and was hugely responsible for not only getting STAPLES Center built, but for making it one of the most successful and famous arenas in the world. It’s an honor that is well deserved.”
