With the signing of Hakim Warrick, it appears Amar’e Stoudemire’s time as a Suns is over. According to Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic, Stoudemire declined a five-year, $96 million offer with minutes-played stipulations: “The eight-year Amar’e Stoudemire era in Phoenix is apparently over. Stoudemire declined a five-year Suns offer that could have been worth up to $96 million, prompting the Suns to quickly secure free agent power forward Hakim Warrick with a four-year agreement worth as much as $18 million. Stoudemire, whose talks with New York and others are accelerating, had told the Suns that he would not sign a deal for fewer than five years after Phoenix offered a four-year maximum deal worth about $80 million. Suns Managing Partner Robert Sarver countered Thursday with a five-year offer that fully guaranteed the first three years and had the fourth and fifth years kick in fully guaranteed if he played at least 2,200 minutes in the third or fourth seasons.”
