Andrew Bynum Says the Cleveland Cavaliers are ‘Definitely a Playoff Team’

Incoming center Andrew Bynum and his people have swooped into Cleveland with plenty of bravado. According to the big fella, during his introductory press conference this morning, the Cavaliers should have no problem making the Playoffs next season. Per the Plain Dealer: “Newest Cavalier Andrew Bynum said his goal is to play a full season this year and help the Cavs reach the playoffs. ‘This is definitely a playoff team,’ In spite of the fact that Bynum missed all of last season with knee issues after being traded from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Philadelphia 76ers, he said he plans to play a full season and will get to work on Monday. He said he weighs 305 pounds and wants to get down into the 280s. Calling questions about his work ethic nonsense, he said getting his career back on track is his only goal. Bynum, 25, signed an incentive-laden two-year contract that could pay him up to $24 million. Only $6 million is guaranteed in the first season, and the Cavs have a team option on the second year in order to maintain their salary-cap flexibility moving toward a possible run at LeBron James if, as expected, he opts out of his contract with Miami.”
