Atlanta Hawks Reportedly Re-Sign Ivan Johnson

According to CSNNW, restricted free agent forward Ivan Johnson — the immortal Ivan Johnson – has re-signed with the Atlanta Hawks: “The undrafted forward who played one season at the University of Oregon before transferring to Cal State-San Bernardino, has accepted the Hawks’ offer of one-year, $962,195. The Hawks extended a qualifying offer to Johnson in early July giving them the right to match an offer sheet signed by Johnson and the Hawks would have had three days to match. Johnson, 28, is expected to have a significant role off the bench under head coach Larry Drew and could set himself up to have an interesting off-season as an unrestricted free agent next summer. In 56 games during his 2011-12 rookie season, Johnson averaged 6.4 points per game, 4.1 rebounds, and shot 51 percent from the field.”
