It’s always fun when front-office types throw darts at each other through the media. The NY Posthas the story: “Nets CEO Brett Yormark fired back at former team president Rod Thorn after reading in yesterday’s Post that Thorn ‘disliked’ Yormark. ‘It seems very out of character for Rod to go there,’ Yormark said. ‘We spent five years together and I considered Rod my partner. I think it’s fair to say, through all the ups and downs, we supported each other.’ … Some sources said Yormark, who made headlines in March when he criticized a fan for wearing a paper bag over his head, would have preferred to hire Kentucky coach John Calipari to run the team. Yormark denied that, though he acknowledged Calipari is a friend of his, and indicated his support for Johnson and new general manager Billy King. He did so while also taking a swipe at Thorn.”
