In the least surprising news to ever happen, LSU star freshman Ben Simmons told Jeff Goodman of ESPN that he will enter the 2016 NBA Draft. Simmons, the No. 1 recruit in America in the class of 2015, is projected to be a top-2 pick in the Draft.
It was an up-and-down year for Simmons. While he was outstanding—he averaged 19.2 points, 11.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game as, essentially, a 6-foot-10 point guard—the Tigers oftentimes struggled. The team was considered a bit of a disappointment, as it was ranked in both preseason top-25 polls but ended up going 19-14 and missing the NCAA Tournament. While the team was reportedly extended an invitation to participate in the NIT, it turned down the opportunity.
A report from earlier this month said that Simmons planned to hire Rich Paul of Klutch Sports as his agent.
