Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid Are ‘Like Brothers’ Off The Court, According to Simmons

The future of the Philadelphia 76ers is dependent on the chemistry and play of rookies Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid. The two have been spending a fair amount of time together off the court and have already developed a close relationship, according to Simmons.

If the success the fans expect is indeed going to happen, it’s going to start with the health of Embiid, the transition of Simmons and how those two work off of each other.

Both are feeling good about what’s ahead.

“He’s a great player, so I’m looking forward to playing with him,” Simmons said. “Off the court we’re like brothers. We have fun.”

Embiid has been drawing a lot of attention this summer as clips of him working out have been making the rounds on social media. Last weekend, Sixers coach Brett Brown said that the big man is on pace to play this preseason and yesterday, Embiid told reporters that he is feeling “100 percent” healthy. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, Embiid will make his NBA debut this season.
