Carmelo Anthony Attempts to Re-Unite Nuggets

With Game 5 of the Nuggets/Jazz being played tonight, Melo wants everyone to believe his team has squashed whatever been may have been created by his comments earlier in the series. The Denver Post reports: “He cleared the air with concerned teammates Monday and said Tuesday that he ‘didn’t feel any friction in practice. When I said I needed help, I was coming from the standpoint of wanting everybody to get together and do it together,’ Anthony said. ‘A lot of people took what I said, when I said I needed help, in the wrong way. But when I talked to my teammates, they know what I mean. We talk basketball every day. They know I’m not pointing them out individually. I’m in it with them. I’m not saying I’m playing the best that I can play. We’re all losing together.’ Anthony has averaged 34.5 points on a sizzling 52.6 percent shooting in this series. He’s added 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game. From a statistical standpoint, Anthony is on top of his game. ‘Do I regret saying I need help? No. I said it. I can’t take it back now,’ Anthony said. ‘I need help in the sense of I need everybody. We need to be on the same page if we’re going to turn this thing around.’ Meanwhile, Anthony was asked to respond to acting coach Adrian Dantley’s assertion that he reduce his turnovers. Despite 39 points, 11 rebounds and four steals in Game 4, Anthony made nine turnovers. ‘He said it. It is what it is,’ Anthony said. ‘If that’s how he felt, then maybe I have to do a better job of taking care of the basketball and not getting so many charges. I can’t dispute what the head coach is saying. If he’s on the sideline and he sees that’s a problem, then I need to fix that.”‘
