Carmelo Anthony: Knicks Players Support Mike D’Antoni 100%

As the New York Knicks’ season continues to spiral down the drain, calls for the firing of head coach Mike D’Antoni are intensifying (which he acknowledges is tough), but his players say they have his back. From the NY Daily News: “Just as Mike D’Antoni admitted that he is feeling some heat as his team spins out of control, the embattled Knicks’ coach got some support from Carmelo Anthony. ‘Any time teams are losing, that’s the first thing that comes to mind is the coach, but we don’t talk about that,’ Anthony said Monday in Greenburgh. ‘We support Mike 100%. He’s here with us, we’re here with him. We’re going to roll with that.’ Besides publicly supporting the coach, Anthony gave the Knicks hope that he could return soon, possibly Tuesday night when the Knicks host the Pistons. Anthony did not practice Monday. He has missed the last two games with right ankle, left wrist and right thumb injuries. Anthony will test the ankle in a workout before the shootaround Tuesday.”
