Chandler Parsons Calls James Harden’s Role Player Comment ‘Ridiculous’

Houston Rockets All-Stars Dwight Howard and James Harden basically called the rest of their teammates a bunch of interchangeable scrubs this summer. Chandler Parsons, looking to become a star himself now as a member of the Dallas Mavericks, thinks Harden’s comments were ridiculous. Per Fox Sports:

Mohr: “I’ve got to ask you about James Harden saying he and Dwight Howard are the stars of the Houston Rockets and everyone else are just role players……I don’t know anyone that would consider you, Chandler Parsons, a role player. Did that sting a little bit?”

Parsons: “I honestly have no clue. I didn’t see the interview. I don’t know what was said and what was left out. That’s a pretty ridiculous statement if he meant that, and that’s part of the reason why I wanted to go to Dallas because I’m ready for the next step. I’m ready for the bigger role, and I’m ready for more leadership. If anybody should understand that it should be James, because he was in the same situation in Oklahoma City and then he had a chance to come to Houston and shine. Not really sure what that means…”
