Deron Williams Slowly Buying into the ‘Vision’ of the Brooklyn Nets?

Though he wouldn’t quite commit to the team going forward on the final night of the NBA’s regular season, soon-to-be unrestricted free agent Deron Williams did sound positive about the direction being taken by the Brooklyn-bound Nets. Per the Bergen Record: “Deron Williams visited the Barclays Center on Tuesday. And after a season full of frustrating losses and crippling injuries, it proved to be just what he needed. ‘My mood’s good,’ Williams said, just hours before the final game of the season, which [he missed] with a sore right calf. ‘It’s good right now, I enjoy being around these guys. I’ve got some big decisions to make. I think going to Brooklyn helped me see the vision again, so we’ll see what happens.’ Williams has called this season the toughest of his life. And he admitted this morning, that it’s been difficult to envision the Nets’ future at times this campaign. ‘Oh yeah,’ Williams said with a laugh. ‘There were times this year where it was difficult to see. Very much so, especially when you’re on the court.’ But a visit to the Barclays Center on Tuesday with general manager Billy King seemed to help put things in perspective. Williams posted pictures of himself, King and guard Jordan Farmar, all smiling from the construction site. ‘It was great, it was great,’ Williams said of the visit. ‘It’s definitely taking shape. It was looking nice, it’s going to be a special arena.’ […] Williams said he’ll watch the playoffs despite the Nets not being in them. ‘It makes you hungrier, I think,’ Williams said. ‘It makes you miss basketball, miss playing in those types of game. I was watching the Jazz/Phoenix game, just games of significance like that, where it means a lot, you want to play in those games again.’ Williams also said he was ‘happy’ his former team, the Jazz, are making the playoffs.”
